Anyone interested in attending the Transitions Program is required to meet the following criteria:
1. The government requires that all participants:
Be unemployed or under-employed (working less than 20 hours per week)
Have a valid social insurance number which allows them to work in Canada
Be referred by a case manager with a return to work action plan showing career planning as the next step
2. Transitions requires that all participants meet the above criteria and:
Have a minimum Grade 10 or equivalent education
Have intermediate or better written and oral English skills
Have work experience
Be comfortable working in a group environment
Be able to make the commitment to attend every day of the 3 weeks and scheduled follow-up sessions
Be ready, willing and available to take steps towards their new career/job goals immediately following the program
Be open to additional education, training or upgrading (including GED, language skills, job search programs) if required to facilitate re-entering the workforce
